The below mentioned short excerpts also teach us - that reguarity in worship, adherence to truth, purity , chastity , and selfless love for all are all necessary qualities to conquer and follow  if one wants to achieve true success in the path of spirituality.

These compilations  of Quotes are from the writings of spiritual giants like Yugrishi Shriram Sharma Acharya, Swami Vivekananda, Shri Ramakrishna Paramhansa,  and his many enlightened disciples.

Quoted excerpts :

The path of  Spirituality :
"The spiritual path and material path are diametrically opposite to each other, and only one of them can be followed.
If the world was pleased with someone his inmost self will not be happy with him. If the inner soul is satisfied, the displeasure of the worldly people will have to be suffered.
This has generally happened in the lives of all true seekers of truth. It is very very rare that the pursuit of higher ideals has been approved by relatives. More often than not, the human soul had to surrender before the worldly people, high ideals had to be given up and the old soul-suffocating routine had to be carried on."
( By Yugrishi Shriram Sharma Acharya ji - A quote from his Autobiographical text "My Life Its Legacy and Message").

Swami Vivekananda on Morality and Chastity - the basis of leading a Spiritual Life :
"I come back to the one, fundamental, vital point: 'Find God. Nothing else matters.' He emphasized morality as the basis of the spiritual life. Without truth, noninjury, continence, non-stealing, cleanliness, and austerity, he repeated, there could be no spirituality.
The subject of continence always stirred him deeply.Walking up and down the room, getting more and more excited, he would stop before someone as if there were no one else present. 'Don't you see,' he would say eagerly, 'there is a reason why chastity is insisted on in all monastic orders? Spiritual giants are produced only where the vow of chastity is observed. Don't you see there must be a reason?
There is a connexion between chastity and spirituality. The explanation is that through prayer and meditation the saints have transmuted the most vital force in the body into spiritual energy. In India this is well understood and yogis do it consciously. The force so transmuted is called ojas, and it is stored up in the brain. It has been lifted from the lowest centre to the highest. "And I, if I be lifted up, will draw all men unto me."' He would plead with the students as if to beg them to act upon this teaching as something most precious. Further, they could not be the disciples he required if they were not established in chastity. He demanded a conscious transmutation.'The man who has no temper has nothing to control."
(The above text is a quote from a letter by Swami Vivekananda written in 1894).

Swami Vivekananda on his Guru - Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa: All Religions are True
"Shri Ramakrishna never spoke a harsh word against anyone. So beautifully tolerant was he that every sect thought that he belonged to them. He loved everyone. To him all religions were true. He found a place for each one. He was free, but free in love, not in "thunder". The mild type creates, the thundering type spreads. Paul was the thundering type to spread the light. (And it has been said by many that Swami Vivekananda himself was a kind of St. Paul to Shri Ramakrishna.)"

The message of Shri Ramakrishna to the modern world: Feel the Spirituality
"Do not care for doctrines, do not care for dogmas, or sects, or churches, or temples; they count for little compared with the essence of existence in each man which is spirituality; and the more this is developed in a man, the more powerful is he for good. Earn that first, acquire that, and criticise no one, for all doctrines and creeds have some good in them.
Show by your lives that religion does not mean words, or names, or sects, but that it means spiritual realisation. Only those can understand who have felt. Only those who have attained to spirituality can communicate it to others, can be great teachers of mankind. They alone are the powers of light."
The more such men are produced in a country, the more that country will be raised; and that country where such men absolutely do not exist is simply doomed nothing can save it."
- A quote made by Swami Vivekananda, while  quoting HIS MASTER.

The definition of an Ishwarkoti soul:
Ishwarakotis or ever-free souls are those who do not merge in nirvana but live as eternal companions of God.  The state of paramahamsa is the highest state of of consciousness.
-A quote by Swami Turiyananda of The Ramakrishna Mission

Why "Paramahansa" level sages keep themselves attached to common human desires ?
"Every action and word of Sri Ramakrishna was meaningful. He was a light eater but would eat his meal consisting of various dishes.
One day he said to Baburam and others: “Do you know why I eat my meal with all these items? If I ate all the items mixed together, my mind would merge into the Infinite and never return.
For you, I keep my mind on lower plane by creating desires such as, I shall eat my rice with five kinds of curries and so on.”
Master kept some small and harmless desires so that he could function in the world and help his devotees."

Ramakrishna Paramhansa on the existence of God:
"You see many stars in the sky at night, but not when the sun rises. Can you therefore say that there are no stars in the heavens during the day? O man, because you cannot find God in the days of your ignorance, say not that there is no God."

When should you begin your Spiritual Journey?
Many people think, first let circumstances become favorable, then they will practice spiritual disciplines. But conditions will never be ideal. You must begin your spiritual struggles wherever you are and under whatever circumstances you find yourself.”
“Worship the Lord! Make it a regular routine in your life to worship him. Wake up early in the morning. First worship the Lord, sing his praises, and then only attend to your other duties.”
-A quote by Swami Turiyananda of The Ramakrishna Mission

Spiritual gains are carried over lifetimes:
'‘A doer of good never comes to grief.’ The spiritual struggles that you undergo are never in vain. Even if you do not attain the highest in this life, you carry your spiritual gain with you to the next life. Don’t you see that there are people who from childhood are devoted to God and live without worldly cravings? On the other hand, there are some who may be learned but live like worms in filth. Without the control of lust nothing can be achieved. Look at Swamiji! What was his power? He was free from lust. He lived among beautiful women, yet there was dispassion in his heart.”
