The Amazing Potentials of Pranic Energy:  At a superficial level blood appears to be the principal regulator of the activities of the body and the internal body functions. If we look a little deeper at the physiological, cellular and molecular levels, we find that the enormous functions of the body are run with the help of a specific bio-electrical energy, which is generated in the brain and supplied to all the parts and organs of the body through a fine network of nerves. This source of energy is as vital for the sustenance of the vivid activities of the body as the dynamo-battery for a motor. Under this analogy, blood is like petrol and bioelectricity is like the electrical energy of the motor (of the body system). A continuous supply and distribution of both together (blood+ bio electrical energy) advances the flow of life. The body-electricity is different from the electricity that we see being used around us in a variety of domestic machines and technological gadgets. The bio-electricity flowing in the brain and the entire body, which makes the uncountable physiological and bio-chemical and physical functions possible, is a manifestation of pranic energy. The prana indwelling in our body is a fraction of the eternal, cosmic prana. The active presence of this pranic energy in the body could be enhanced by mental and vital strength. Focused willpower and determined efforts enable outstanding performance of sportsmen, wonders of skilled talents, adventurous expeditions, etc. In a similar way, adept yoga-sadhanas effectuate a significant rise in the pranic electricity level at will. The enhanced level of prana also arouses the will power and the external and internal vigor of the sadhaka. The power of a small battery or dry cell is a tiny fraction of the enormous electrical power that could be produced in a grand powerhouse. A battery can be used for lighting a torch or for equivalent small jobs. But, if we need to run a big machine in a factory or light up a city, a huge power generator would be essential. Similarly, the ordinary level of prana may be sufficient for the sustenance of the routine physiological, metabolic and other normal functions of the body. It would be substantial for one's life if it simply revolves around eating, sleeping and reproducing. Should we require elevation from this animal(base) nature of our life, we would need to elevate, protect and creatively channelize our pranic energy. A still higher presence of the cosmic prana would be required for still greater, august purposes. Specific kinds of yoga-sadhanas are needed to attain the desired charging of pranic energy as per the specific aim.

The Five states of Human Consciousness, where they lie and how they are measured?

The following is an excerpt from the phenomenal book- "The Astonishing Power of the Bio Physical and Subtle Energies of the Human Body" authored by Shriram Sharma Acharya. 
The excerpt here advances our learning on the subject of how the sages and saints of  our current and ancient times harnessed the power of these subtle energies to enter into different states of bliss, the final state of bliss being Samadhi (merging of Individual Consciouness with the Universal Consciousness). Can modern scientific instruments measure some of these states of consciousness and how have we achieved the same? "The science of spirituality deals with both the subtle and the physical level of the conscious body. Experts of this science can use higher levels of realization in the subtle body to perform supernatural experiments on the physical body. They experience more and more bliss as they realize higher and subtler levels of consciousness. 

The five important levels of the human consciousness are:
(i) The Physical Consciousness (Annamaya Kosh) which is manifested in the activities of hormones and enzymes etc.
(ii) The Awakened Consciousness (Pranmaya Kosh) which is active in the form of bio-electricity.
(iii) The Psychic Consciousness (Manomaya kosh) which gives rise to bio-magnetism.
(iv) The Intuitive Consciousness (Vigyanmaya Kosh) and
(v) The Supreme Consciousness (Anandmaya Kosh) which subtly exists in the Reticular Activating System in the Cortical Nuclei. 

Subtle energy fields or Chakras, The Human Aura - What are they and what role do they play?

Many times we hear of Chakra healing, Chakra Meditation, but what are Chakras? We also know about the North and South Pole of the Earth, but have you heard about the North and South Pole of the Human Body? 

With advancements in Science, scientists have been able to capture on film the aura surrounding the human body. Close observation of the human aura fields  has revealed that the light particles captured near the Poles of the earth are the same as the light particles that surround the human body to form our aura. Studies have also shown that the aura is differently charged at the two ends of the body - much like the earths poles.

That leads us to ask a related  question - What function  do the North and South Pole of the human body perform? We know that the Earth absorbs cosmic energy from the North Pole and expels residual energy from the South Pole . Is it therefore the same with the Human body?

"The visible structure and function of the human body is wonderful in itself. More peculiar are its inherent, imperceptible and subtle aspects. A mysterious and all powerful world of electromagnetic waves and neuro chemicals is hidden inside this system. 

To decipher the complexity of this system, it would be beneficial to consider the sayings of the Upanishads and other scriptures as theorems and propositions and thereafter plan the theoretical and experimental investigations to prove or solve them. 

The eleventh Mantra (counsel) of Isopnishad says - 'One who learns from the known as well as the unknown overcomes the knowledge of death and eternity’. 
In other words, only the interlinking of material based scientific research and the realization of the invisible subtle powers through spirituality would lead to a complete understanding of the origin, structure, functioning, and purpose behind the living human-system.

Our body with this bio-electrical properties,  functions like a dipole magnet whose North Pole resides in the central brain and the South Pole in the center of the genital organs. Scientists claim that its polarization process found in the Human body  is similar to the polarization of the earth and that it begins right at the level of a zygote. Mitotic and/or meiotic divisions occur after this polarization.
