Overcoming the tendency to blame others for our own failure's!

Dear Readers ,

All of us face situations in our lives where we fail or do not meet with the required level of success ! In such a situation how should we react and what should we learn from the situation so that we do not meet  with failure again?

A wonderful Quote from the Book in Hindi - Rishi Chintan Key Sannidhye Mein gives us many good pointers on how to overcome failure.

So let us read this short and wonderful excerpt :

"Many of us tend to blame other people for our own failures, individual weakness's and misfortunes. In situations where we have failed or not met with the required success, we often think of getting even with the other person / or settling a score.
The process of settling a score is an un-ending process, where the one who is harmed will also subsequently  want to settle the score back with you. In this process at an individual level YOU will never benefit, so it’s best not to follow this path.

An individual’s personal success, failure or misfortune is always based on a person’s physical and mental abilities and his own individual strength of character.

When we try to build our success by suppressing another person, spreading bad rumors about them or by simply walking over another person; then this behavior on our part is reflective of our own internal weakness of mind and character (we demonstrate that we are a jealous, angry and an  insecure individual).
The individuals that are engaged in such small acts of vengeance find themselves losing all their strengths and abilities that they have built up over a period of time.
When the fires of jealousy and ill will keep burning inside the person for a long time they kill all the person’s individual bravery, enthusiasm and abilities to overcome difficult situations.

We are each individually responsible for both the good and bad in our life. Let us not blame and malign other people for our individual life situations. Let us take responsibility for our own individual progress, deeds, thoughts and actions.

Additionally, when we are faced with situations that are difficult, adverse and beyond our control we should NOT spend time thinking about them and reflecting upon them over and over again.

If we have inadvertently created a situation which has caused harm, ill will or adversity to ourselves or some other, and now this situation is outside our control, then it is a mistake in ruminating and bereating ourselves continuously over the same.
Once the bow has left the arrow –nothing can really be done. It is best not to think about situations outside our control and be anxious about them.''

Rather we should just focus on analysing what went wrong with the situation and make sure that we learn from our mistakes , so that they do not occur again ...!

How to stop thinking negatively and start thinking positively!

Dear Readers,

Many times in our life we can be confronted with stressful situations that compel us to think negatively, sometimes we can even be thinking negatively in an obsessive and compulsive manner !

What then is the solution to overcoming negative thinking and moving towards a positive an affirmative state  of mind?

The solution is simple and rewarding ! So let us read below a short and simple solution to the problem . This is a translated excerpt from the wonderful Book of Quotes in Hindi titled - Rishi Chintan Key Sannidhye Mein !

Quoted and translated excerpt:

"It is well known that fire when lit first warms the place where it is ignited and thereafter the same spot starts to burn under the heat and intensity of that fire. Likewise acid, when placed in an ordinary vessel first destroys the vessel in which it is placed.

Similarly when we harbor negative thoughts, feelings of jealousy, feelings of ill will towards another, we first harm ourselves. Till such time that these negative thoughts persist and fester in our mind we continue to be harmed

Incidentally, the person towards whom we harbored such negative thoughts and feelings remains relatively un-impacted by the whole process. When we find ourselves to be in conflict with other people, or when there is a difference of opinion with other people, we should try and find a good and effective way of resolving the conflict situation. Harboring ill will and negativity towards our opponent does not help the process of conflict resolution.

Mahatma Gandhi is one example of an  illustrious personality who demonstrated the effective use of this philosophy. He resolved all conflicts with people that opposed him in an amiable manner and did not hold feelings of negativity, or ill will towards his opponents. When faced with a conflict situation we should try and follow his method of conflict resolution- focus on the problem and not the person.

In order to achieve the above; we need to achieve higher levels of empathy and sympathy in our emotional spectrums. We should learn to feel another person’s problem and difficulties as if it were our own.
When misfortune strikes another we should feel the pain of another person’s misfortune as if it was our own. When we reach this level of empathetic feeling and concern for others, the world will be able to maintain peace and harmony in all sorts of conflict situations.

Remember, when feelings of ill will towards another surface in our mind -we should consciously replace the feelings of ill will with feelings of love and affection; replace feelings of selfish gain with universal gain.

In this process not only will our individual lives be transformed but the world will be a better place for all of us to live in."

In summary therfore the most effective  solution of overcoming negative thinking is by consciously  replacing a negative thought with a positive thought, as soon as a negative thought occurs or  comes into the mind.
Do this consciously over a period of time.
Thoughts can be cut ,stopped, replaced and ceckmated by counter thoughts..........

Try this method and let us know  if this worked for you by way of a comment below !

Habits of highly effective people - Pursue excellence at Work!

Dear Readers,

There are so many Books and articles written upon the topic of "what are the few habits of highly successful and effective people". So on this popular topic let us read one more powerful Quotation from the wonderful Book of quotes titled -Rishi Chintan Key sannidhye Mein

Enclosed is an English  translation of a Hindi Quotation from this book that tells us what sets highly effective people apart from the others that are not so successful !

So let us read....the Quoted and translated excerpt below:

Pursue Excellence in all tasks that you do !   Make Excellence a HABIT!

"We should approach each job entrusted to us  in a way that maximizes the use of our abilities and delivers the best possible output that we can deliver. Therefore pursue excellence as a habit.

When we deliver mediocre outputs not only do we cheat our employers of a job well done but above all we cheat ourselves. Our employer is not harmed as much by our mediocrity as we  are. While the employer  loss can be capped at a  couple of hundred bucks the loss to the employee cannot be measured.

When we do each task assigned to us  with less than 100% of   our interest, ability and commitment we enter a level of low state of personal capability, ability, and execution. Over a period of time this can be habit forming ,laziness overcomes us and we are happy at delivering mediocrity”.
